At T for Teacher our approach is rooted in two main theories of learning - Swaller's Cognitive Load Theory and Rosenshine's Principles of learning. In short, we ensure that all learning is broken down into small manageable steps that build upon prior learning and form part of a wider learning journey. This approach supports children to not only understand new concepts but retain their learning.
NATIONAL CURRICULUM AND MORE!
At T for Teacher we plan and deliver lessons in all National Curriculum subjects. So whether Maths is your bag, English is your thing or grammar is your worst nightmare we have you covered with bespoke packages to enrich your child's education. In addition to the universal curriculum subjects, we can also deliver high quality targeted and specialist interventions upon request.
BESPOKE LESSON PLANS
All lessons are planned from scratch and are adapted to meet the needs and play to the strengths of each pupil.
QUALITY RESOURCES
Each lesson includes use of PowerPoint slides designed to reduce the cognitive load on the learner. By booking with us, you also gain access to the same wide range of concrete and pictorial resources that are used to support learning within mainstream schools.
ASSESSMENT AND TARGETS
A combination of statutory assessments, teacher judgement and specialist screening tools are used to generate SMART targets at the beginning of each block of lessons.
EMOTIONAL REGULATION AND WELLBEING
At T for Teacher we are passionate about supporting the whole child. As such, we provide interventions and coaching to support children with SEN and their families with emotional regulation and managing expected and unexpected behaviours.
COMMUNICATION WITH PARENTS
At T for Teacher we work in partnership with parents and believe that strong communication is key. This is why we take the time to write a detailed weekly session report that not only updates parents on their child’s progress but suggests additional activities that could be completed between lessons.
