Meet the team

My name is Emily and I am the founder of T for Teacher. I am a fully qualified teacher and tutor based in Banbury and offer private lessons to Primary aged pupils both in person and online. I have over 5 years experience as a classroom teacher and have additional experience as a school leader and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO). Teaching children with SEN is both my area of specialism and my passion. I have extensive experience teaching children with a range of additional needs (including autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and Speech and language difficulties) and I am an expert in reducing cognitive barriers to learning. I support all the children that I teach to make accelerated progress, regardless of their starting point. Contact me if you would like help with homeschooling, private lessons or SEN support.

My name is Hannah, a fully qualified teacher, dyslexia teacher and dyslexia assessor based just outside Banbury in Oxfordshire.   Having qualified as a Primary School teacher in 2012, I spent over 6 years as a classroom teacher and have additional experience as Phonics coordinator. I also have extensive experience teaching children with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, Speech and language difficulties and global delay. For the past 6 years I have worked as a teacher in a resource base, supporting children with various needs to access education. 

In June 2023, I qualified as a specialist teacher teaching children and young people with literacy difficulties. I am able to produce and teach individualised lessons for students who have literacy difficulties. Following an assess, plan, do review approach I adopt multi-sensory approaches to enable children and young people to discover their strengths and understand their challenges and learn strategies to unlock learning within education and beyond. 

I also hold an Assessment Practicing Certificate (APS) and am able to assess and for and produce diagnostic dyslexia reports. These reports can be used within educational settings to provide additional support for your child / young person across the curriculum.

I’m Abbie, a qualified teacher and tutor in the West Berkshire area. I hold a BEd (Hons) in Primary Education, graduating in 2019, and I’m beginning my seventh year of teaching in September 2024. My experience spans four years in Special Schools, supporting students in mainstream settings post COVID, teaching Year 3, and currently running a Resource Provision for Autistic children.

I’m dedicated to unlocking each student’s unique learning strengths through personalized teaching. I design lessons that blend academics with personal growth, using hands-on activities, real-world connections, and diverse strategies to make learning engaging and memorable. Also, I incorporate pupil's personal development, where we learn through focusing on self-belief, resilience and regulation needs and strategies.
 

Additionally, I’m a Year 6 SATs Examiner with deep knowledge of exam preparation. As a qualified tutor under the National Tutoring Programme, I’ve also trained fellow teachers to enhance their own practices. My goal is to empower students with the skills and confidence they need to thrive academically and personally.
